Find out a little more about us.
Loatlands Primary School is a medium sized school in Desborough. The town of Desborough is situated on the A6, about 6 miles Northwest of Kettering. It has approximately 7000 residents and is expanding, with the new developments around the area. The school is set to the northern side of the main A6 road, though it serves the whole community. Despite being in the town, the school still retains a very rural feel. It has the benefit of a large playing field as well as two playgrounds for infants and juniors, a conservation area and a garden.
The main school has approximately 210 children on roll. These are arranged in 7 classes from Reception to Year 6. Each class can take up to 30 children. The reception class attend on part time basis for the first half term.
All children at Loatlands are strongly encouraged to "Try Hard, Aim High" our school motto. Music is a particular strength of the school. Our Choirs, Orchestra, and Ocarina Groups take part in events both in Desborough and further afield.
The, purpose built, Nursery unit is set within the school grounds. It has spaces for 78 children attending one of two sessions per day. Children in the nursery regularly come over to use the school hall for PE and to attend some assemblies and school productions. We would recommend that, due to the popularity of the nursery, children should be registered at the beginning of the school year in which they have their second birthday.
